Section 1 in The Warehousing Corporations Act, 1962

1. Short title, extent and commencement.

(1)This Act may be called the Warehousing Corporations Act, 1962.
(2)It extends to the whole of India [***] [Omitted by Act 37 of 1989, Section 2]
(3)It shall come into force on such [date] [18th March, 1963; vide Notification No. G.S.R. 463, dated 16-3-1963, see Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Pt II, Section 3(i), p. 155] as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
The date appointed is 18-3-1963 - See Gazette of India, 18-3-1963, Pt. II, Section 3(i), Ext., p. 155.The Act has been extended to and enforced on 1-1-1984 in Sikkim - See S.O. 529(E) of 1983 and G.S.R. 926(E) of 1983.
