16. Deans of faculties.
(1)The Dean of the faculty shall be whole time salaried officer and shall be appointed for a period of three years by the Executive Council on the recommendation of the selection committee as prescribed by the Statutes. The Dean shall be eligible for reappointment for a further period of three years :Provided that, no member of the Executive Council, other than the Vice-Chancellor shall be a member of such a committee.(2)No person shall hold the office of Dean beyond the age of sixty five years.(3)The Dean shall perform such functions as may be prescribed by Statutes, Ordinances and regulations made under this Act.
