Section 155 in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2011

155. Construction of a water dam, etc.

(1)Where in any mine, it is intended to construct a reservoir, dam or other structure to withstand a pressure of water or other material which will flow when wet, or to control an inrush of water, the owner, agent or manager shall give in writing not less than 14 days notice of such intention to the Regional Inspector and every such notice shall be accompanied by two copies of plans and sections showing the design and other details of the proposed construction:Provided that where the safety of the mine or of the persons employed therein is seriously threatened, the provisions of this regulation shall be deemed to have been complied with if the said notice is given to the Regional Inspector as soon as the work of construction is commenced:Provided further that where such a reservoir, dam or other structure was constructed before the coming into force of these regulations, the said copies of the plans and sections shall be submitted to the Regional Inspector within three months of the coming into force of these regulations and where these details are not available, the Regional Inspector shall be informed of the fact within the aforesaid period.
(2)The Regional Inspector may, by an order in writing, require such modification or alternations to be made by the design of any such reservoir, dam or structure, as he may specify therein.Chapter-XII Ventilation
