Section 156(1) in The Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1993
(1)It shall be lawful for a district panchayat to undertake upon such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon, the construction, maintenance or repair of any work or the management of any institution on behalf of Government, any local authority, any Corporation incorporated under any law for the time being in force and owned or controlled by the Government or the Court of Wards.
