(1)This Act may be called the [Nagaland Village Councils Act, 1978] [Substituted by 'Nagaland Village and Area Councils Act, 1978' Nagaland Act No. 7 of 1990, dated 9.3.1992.].(2)It extends to whole of Nagaland.(3)It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may by notification in the Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act.
