Section 58(1) in The M.P. Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1976
(1)(a)The Head of Office shall go through the service book and the service roll, if any, of the Government servant and satisfy himself as to whether the annual certificates of verification for the entire service excluding the portion referred to in sub-rule (3) of Rule 29 are recorded therein.(b)In respect of the unverified portion or portions of service, he shall arrange to verify it or them, as the case may be, with reference to pay bills, acquittance rolls or other relevant records and records necessary certificates in the service book or service rolls, as the case may be.
