Section 19(1) in The Orissa Survey and Settlement Rules, 1962
(1)The cost of survey under Sub-section (2) of Section 9 shall be assessed by the Survey Officer in the following manner, namely :The village or tract notified for survey under Sub-section (3) of Section 3 shall be the unit for assessment and the cost of survey shall include -(i)all direct charges involved in conducting the survey operation including the cost of preparing copy or copies of the survey record supplied to the parties who apply for such survey under Subsection (3) of Section 3;(ii)overhead charges in full on account of supervision and control of the entire area taken up for survey, forms one unit and in any other case, the same shall be apportioned among the different units according to the area of operation.
