27. Chairman of Transport Committee.
(1)The Transport Committee shall at its first meeting after its appointment under sub-section (2) of section 25 and at its first meeting in the same month in each succeeding year appoint one of its member to be the Chairman.(2)The Chairman shall hold office until his successor has been appointed under subsection (1) but shall be eligible for re-appointment.(3)Notwithstanding the provisions of sub-sections (1) and (2), the Chairman shall vacate office as soon as he ceases to be a member of the Committee.(4)In the event of the office, of Chairman falling vacant previous to the expiry of his term the Committee shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the occurrence of the vacancy, appoint one of its member to fill such vacancy and the Chairman so appointed shall hold office so long only as the person in whose place he is appointed would have held it if such vacancy had not occurred.
