100. Police to take charge of unclaimed movable property
(1)The Police shall, for the purpose of safe custody, take temporary charge of--(a)all unclaimed movable property found by them, and(b)all movable property found lying in any public street, if the owner or the person in charge of such property on being directed to remove the same, refuses or omits to do so within a reasonable time;and may, for the said purpose, take temporary charge of any unclaimed movable property made over to them.(2)Property of which the Police have taken charge under sub-section (1) shall be handed over to the Commissioner of Police.
