Section 16 in The Tamil Nadu Police (Reform) Act, 2013
16. Procedure to be followed by District Police Complaints Authority.
- The District Police Complaints Authority shall follow the following procedure for the disposal of complaints:-(a)Any complaint of misconduct or serious misconduct received by the District Police Complaints Authority which is not covered by the fourth proviso to section 15 shall be referred to the Police Complaints Division for enquiry and report, if necessary, after examining the victim or complainant or any other person and relevant documents, and after ascertaining from the concerned disciplinary authority whether any disciplinary proceedings have already been initiated in regard to the same complaint of misconduct.(b)The District Police Complaints Authority shall submit its recommendations to the Government for appropriate action.
