(1)The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare any specified service to be an essential service to the community, for a specified period, which may be extended from time to time, by a notification, as may be deemed necessary.(2)Upon a declaration being made under sub-section (1) and so long it remains in force, it shall be the duty of every Police Officer to obey lawful orders of his superior officers for the maintenance of the essential service.
