40. Appointment of Inspectors.
(1)Every Local Authority empowered under Section 34 shall appoint a sufficient number of persons with the prescribed qualifications as Inspectors for the area subject to its jurisdiction, as it may deem fit, for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act.(2)The Government may, by notification, appoint such persons having the prescribed qualifications, as it thinks fit, by name or virtue of office to be Inspector for the purposes of this Act within such local limits and for such classes of establishments as it may assign to each such person.
