Section 53(1) in Assam Notified Urban Areas (Other than Guwahati) Building Rules, 2014
(1)Every room in a residential building which is intended to be used as an inhabited room shall be provided for the purpose of light and ventilation with windows, clear storey windows, doors and apertures having a total area of not less than 1/6 of the floor area of the room.
