Section 24(1) in The M.P. Nagarpalika Nirvachan Niyam, 1994
(1)Any person may be nominated as a candidate for election to fill a seat if he is qualified to be elected to fill that seat under the provisions of the Act :[Provided that in the case of a seat reserved for the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes or a women, no person who is not a member of a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Class or is not a women, as the case may be, shall be qualified to be elected to such seat.] [Substituted by Notification No. 53-XVIII-III-95, dated 18-10-1995]
