Section 36(2) in The Orissa Boiler Operation Engineers' Rules, 2000
(2)A candidate for a 2nd Class certificate of proficiency as a Boiler Operation Engineer shall not be less than 24 years of age and shall not be admitted to the examination unless he possesses-(i)a degree or a certificate of passing Sections A and B of the AMIE Examination recognised by the Institution of Engineers of India or a diploma in mechanical or electrical or instrumentation Engineering;(ii)not less than two years training in operation and maintenance of boilers and auxiliaries of an industry/Power Station; and(iii)not less than 5 years practical experience in operation of boilers having heating surface not less than 100 (one hundred) meters.
