25. Academic Council.
(1)There shall be an Academic Council of the University, consisting of the following as members, namely:-(a)the Vice-Chancellor Ex-officio Chairman;(b)the Pro-Vice-Chancellor;(c)Deans of Faculties;(d)one Professor from each faculty to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;(e)the Secretary in charge of Information and Public Relations Department or his nominee not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the Government;(f)the Secretary in charge of Higher Education Department or his nominee not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary to the Government;(g)Chairmen, Boards of Studies;(h)two persons having special attainment in the field of studies not being employees of the University, one to be nominated by the Chancellor and the other by the State Government; and(i)the Registrar of the University, Member-Secretary.Explanation. - For the purpose of clauses (e) and (f), "Secretary in charge" means the Secretary in charge of the Department and includes an Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary when he is in charge of a department.(2)The term of office of nominated members shall be two years.
