Section 1276(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)Any outbreak of fire in buildings due to or suspected of being due to electrical causes should be reported immediately, in the manner noted below for thorough inspection of the electrical wirings with a view to avoid any recurrence by taking necessary precautionary measures.(i)Immediate information should be sent direct to the Executive Engineer, Electrical Division concerned, and the electrical installation should not be interfered with other than to the extent necessary to extinguish the fire, until the Executive Engineer has caused the site to be inspected by a responsible officer.(ii)Information should be given, if possible, by telephone to the Executive Engineer's office or residence or by express letter or telegram, if telephonic communication is hot possible.
