Section 1 in West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Nest Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979.(2)It extends to the whole of West Bengal, excluding any area to which the Provisions of the Cantonments Act, 1924 (2 of 1924), apply.(3)It shall come into [force] [The Act came into force on 1st April, 1980 vide Notification No. 1873-T & CP/1R-6/80, dated the 17th March, 1980.] on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different areas.
