26.
(1)Any member of the Senate, the Syndicate or the Academic Council may be removed by a resolution of the Senate, the Syndicate or the Academic Council as the case may be, passed by a majority of not less than two-thirds of its members on either of the following grounds, namely:-(i)the officer has become incapable of performing his duties, and(ii)the officer has been convicted by a court of law of an offence which, in the opinion of the Senate, the Syndicate or the Academic Council, as the case may be, involves moral turpitude.(2)Notwithstanding anything contained in the terms of his appointment any officer of the University, salaried or otherwise, may be removed from that office by the Authority which is competent to fill the vacancy on either of the following grounds, namely:-(i)the officer has been incapable of performing his duties; and(ii)the officer has been convicted by a court of law of an offence which in the opinion of the Senate, the Syndicate or the Academic Council, as the case may be, involves moral turpitude:Provided that nothing in this clause shall be deemed to effect any rights accruing to an officer appointed on contract in accordance with the terms of the contract.
