Section 6A in Standards of Quality of Service of Basic Telephone Service (Wireline) and Cellular Mobile Telephone Service Regulations, 2009

6A. [ Duration of alert for the called party. [Inserted by Notification No. F. No. 301-02/2018-QOS(Misc.), dated 1.11.2019.]

(1)The time duration of alert for an incoming voice call, which is neither answered nor rejected by the called party, shall be thirty seconds for Cellular Mobile Telephone Service and sixty seconds for Basic Telephone Service.
(2)The terminating network shall, on expiry of thirty seconds in case of Cellular Mobile Telephone Service and sixty seconds in case of Basic Telephone Service, release the incoming voice call and transmit the call release message to the originating network:Provided that the originating network may release an unanswered call after ninety seconds in case the call release message is not received from the terminating network.]Section IVCUSTOMER PERCEPTION OF SERVICE FOR BASIC TELEPHONE SERVICE (WIRELINE) AND CELLULAR MOBILE TELEPHONE SERVICE
