(3)[(a) There shall be a Board of Studies for each Department of the University which shall] [Sub-sections (3) and (3A) substituted by W. B. Act 31 of 1981.][meet at least twice a year and shall] [Words inserted by W.B. Act 21 of 1996] consist of the following: -(i)all academic, research and extension staff in the rank of teachers of the department,(ii)two subject-specialists, not being salaried employees of the University, nominated by the Board of Studies.(b)The Head of the Department [shall hold office as such for a term of four years and] [Words inserted by W.B. Act 21 of 1996.] shall be the Chairman of the Board of Studies.
