12. The Visitor.
(1)The Governor of Uttarakhand will be Visitor of the University.(2)The Visitor shall, when present, will preside over the Convocation of the University held for conferring degrees.(3)The Visitor shall have the following powers; namely;(a)to call for any paper or information in relation to the affairs of the University;(b)On the basis of the information received by the Visitor, if he is satisfied that any decision taken by any authority of the University is not in conformity with the Act, Statutes or Rules, he may issue such directions as he may deem fit for the reconsideration of such decision by the Chancellor of the University, in the interest of the University and the directions so issued shall be complied with by the Chancellor.(4)Every proposal for the conferment of an honorary or degree or distinction shall be subject to the approval of the Visitor.
