Section 31 in Gujarat Gas (Regulation of Transmission, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2001
31. Powers of Tribunal.
(1)For the purpose of exercising its jurisdiction under this Act, the Tribunal shall have the same powers as am vested in the civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, (5 of 1908) in respect of the following matters, namely :-(a)summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;(b)requiring the discovery and production of documents;(c)issuing commissions for the examination of witnesses;(d)such other matters as may be prescribed.(2)The Tribunal shall be deemed to be a court for the purpose of section 5 of the Limitation Act, 1963, (XXXVI of 1963).
