Section 8 in Rules for the Biju Pattnaik Award for outstanding performance in promotion of Sports and Games
8. Evaluation Committee.
- (i) Government will set up an Evaluation Committee every year to scrutinize all the applications received from the individuals/ Sports Associations/State Journalist Association and other sources and to make its recommendation to Government for the award under Rule 5(i).(ii)The Committee shall consist of seven (7) members of independent Juries including the Chairman. One of the Juries shall be a Sports Journalist/Reporter, three be outstanding Ex Sports persons and two be Secretary/President of State Level Sports Associations.(iii)The Evaluation Committee shall recommend the names of the selected awardees along with their bio-data and achievements for each award in the following format :-The Evaluation Committee for the awards under Rule 5 (i) for the year recommends the following names for the conferment of the Awards, after due diligence and elaborate discussion.(a)Under Rule 5(i)(a)(b)Under Rule 5(i)(b)(c)Under Rule 5(i)(c)(d)Under Rule 5(i)(d)(iv)The Director, Sports & Youth Services or his nominee will be present at the time of deliberation of the Committee but shall not have any sort of participation in decision making.
