Section 2(u) in Khasi Hills Autonomous District (Appointment and Succession of Syiem, Deputy Syiem, Electors and Rangbah Shnong of Mylliem Syiemship) Act, 2007
(u)"Syiem Raid" means an adult male administrative head belonging to the Khasi community who is the native of Raid Ri-Them from the clan and of the Raid as shown in Schedule-III, duly appointed and recognized as such, as the case may be under the provisions of this Act.
