Section 109(3) in The Karnataka Education Act, 1983
(3)The Council shall also consist of the following members:-(a)the Vice-Chancellors of Universities constituted under the Karnataka State Universities Act, 1976 and University of Agricultural Sciences Act, 1963;(b)the Commissioner of Public Instruction, the Director of Collegiate Education, the Director of Technical Education, the Director of Medical Education, the Director of Adult Education, the Director of Vocational Education, the Director of Youth Services, the Director of Social Welfare, the Director of Women and Children Welfare, the Director of Backward Classes and Minorities, the Director of Agriculture;(c)the nominated members of each of the Standing Committees constituted under section 110;(d)not exceeding ten members nominated by the State Government of whom three shall be persons belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and atleast one shall be a woman, two from other Backward Classes and one from minorities.
