Section 27(2) in THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACT, 1986
(2)The Planning Committee shall be respobsible for-The overall planning of the development of theUniversity in the perspective of five years;the delineation of desirable direction of growth;monitoring the implementation of programmesapproved by the Syndicate; andassessing the overall performance of the University in achieving targets set for the plan period.Subject to the provisions of this Act, the constitution, powers and functions of the planning Committee shall be prescribed by the Statutes.
