Section 3(1) in Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University Act, 2013
(1)For the development of music and fine arts and for furthering the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in music and fine arts, on and from the appointed date, there shall be established a University by the name, "The Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University".
