The Bihar Private Forest (Validating) Act, 1949(Bihar Act 12 of 1949)This Act received the assent of the Governor on the 30th March, 1949, and the assent was first published in the Bihar Gazette of the 6th April, 1949An Act to validate certain proceedings under the Bihar Private Forests Act, 1946, and the Bihar Private Forests Act, 1947.Whereas it is expedient to validate certain proceedings under the Bihar Private Forests Act, 1946 (Bihar Act III of 1946), and the Bihar Private Forests Act, 1947 (Bihar Act IX of 1948);It is hereby enacted as follows:-

1. Short title.

- This Act may be called the Bihar Private Forests (Validating) Act, 1949.

2. Validation of certain proceedings under Bihar Act III of 1946 and under Bihar Act IX of 1948.

- No proceeding or action taken under Sections 15, 21 or 29 of the Bihar Private Forests Act, 1946 (Bihar Act III of 1946), or under Sections 15,21 or 30 of the Bihar Private Forests Act, 1947 (Bihar Act, IX of 1948)-or under any other section of any of the said Acts from the respective dates of commencement of the said Acts to the date of commencement of this Act shall be deemed to be invalid or shall be called in question in any Court or proceeding whatsoever merely on the ground that a copy of the notification under Section 14 of any of the said Acts was not served on the landlord, or that there was any defect or irregularity in the service of such notification; nor shall any suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding whatsoever, lie in any Court of law against any servant of the [Government] [Substituted by A.L.O. for 'His Majesty'] for or on account of or in respect of any such proceeding or action taken by him.
