Section 2(1) in Land Revenue Assessment Rules, 1929
(1)The most important classes of cultivated land are as follows :-(a)barani : dependent on rainfall ;(b)sailab : flooded or kept permanently moist by river ;(c)abi : watered by lift from tanks, jhils, streams, or by flow from springs ;(d)nahri : irrigated by Canals by flows or lift ; and(e)chahi : watered from wells
