Section 339(2) in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964
(2)Eligible candidates shall be required to appear before a Board of Selection and to undergo a medical examination; provided that Cadets about to pass out from the Training Ship "Dufferin" or any other recognised Merchant Navy Training Centre may be accepted without being required to appear before a Board of Selection.
