Section 19 in The Punjab Livestock and Birds Diseases Act, 1948

19. Power to require disinfection of infected premises, vessels or vehicles.

(1)Subject to rules to be made in this behalf by the[State] Government, the Veterinary Surgeon may, by order in writing, require the owner, occupier or person in charge of any building, yard, vessel or vehicle in which there has been an infective [livestock or bird] [Substituted for the words 'animal' or 'an animal' and 'animals' by Punjab Act of 1961, Section 4.] to have such building, yard, vessel or vehicle disinfected, and the internal fittings thereof and other things found therein or near thereto to be disinfected or destroyed in such manner and to such extent as may be specified in the order.
(2)Subject as aforesaid, if such owner, occupier or person fails to comply with the requirements of such order within a reasonable time, the Inspector may cause such building, yard, vessel or vehicle to be disinfected and the internal fittings and other things to be disinfected or destroyed at the expense of the owner.
