(1)The '[Municipality] shall at the cost of the Municipal Fund, cause the public roads and bridges to be maintained and repaired and may from the same fund meet the cost ail improvements to the same which are necessary or expedient for the public safety or convenience.(2)The [Municipality] [Substituted vide Orissa Act No. 11 of 1994 w.e.f. 31.5.1994.] may entrust to any other local authority with the consent of such authority the maintenance of any public road or portion thereof, the cost of maintenance being provided by the [Municipality] [Substituted vide Orissa Act No. 11 of 1994 w.e.f. 31.5.1994.].
