(1)The Government may by notification in the Gazette, make rules consistent with this Act to-(a)regulate the procedure to be followed by Magistrates and Police officers in the discharge of any duty imposed upon them by or under the provisions of this Act;(b)regulate the recruitment and conditions of service of Polite officers other than the members of the Indian Police Service;(c)prescribe the procedure in accordance with which any licence or permission sought to be obtained or required under this Act should be applied for and fix the fees to be charged for any such licence or permission; and(d)give effect to the provisions of this Act generally.
