Section 80(1) in The Himachal Pradesh Police Act, 2007

(1)The District Superintendent of Police shall generally monitor the progress of investigation in all criminal cases registered in the District and shall closely oversee the progress of investigation of cases of serious offences by the Criminal Investigation Unit.
