Section 14(1) in Himachal Pradesh Universities of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Act, 1986
(1)There shall be an Academic Council for the University which shall, subject to the provisions of the Act and the Statutes, superintend, direct and control and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of instructions, education and examinations and other matters connected with the conferment of degrees or award of diplomas and certificates and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on it by the Statutes. It shall advise the Vice Chancellor on all academic matters of the University.
