Section 9(1)(e) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

(e)A candidate after having taken admission in first year of any of courses through Joint Entrance Examination or through any other mode prescribed by Board of Director, shall have to seek admission against through the same mode, if he/she does not prosecute his/her studies in that session/semester and abstains from the institution for more than two months from the date of admission continuously in that session/ semester.
