Section 1(2) in The Bengal Agricultural And Sanitary Improvement Act, 1920
(2)It extends to the whole of [West Bengal] [Words substituted by the Indian Independence (Adaptation of Bengal and Punjab Acts) Order, 1948.] [except Calcutta as defined in clause (11) of section 3 of the Calcutta Municipal Act, 1923] [substituted by Bengal Act 1 of 1939.], and any area which has been or may hereafter be constituted a municipality under the provisions of the Bengal Municipal Act, [1932] [substituted by Bengal Act 1 of 1939.]:Provided that if any scheme under this Act jointly affects any area to which this Act extends and any municipal area, this Act shall be deemed to apply to such municipal area for the purposes of such scheme.
