Section 4(2) in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
(2)The University may assume responsibility for the maintenance of Gram Sevak Training Centres and for the programme of training of field extension workers, therein and for the establishment, development and operation of Agricultural Polytechnics as may be required in the various parts of the State.
