Section 27 in The U.P. Debt Redemption Act, 1940

27. Repeals and amendments.

(1)The enactments mentioned in the Second Schedule are hereby repealed to the extent mentioned in the fourth column thereof.

(2)In section 33 of the United Provinces Agriculturists Relief Act, 1934-

(a)in sub-section (2) for the words "follow the provisions of Chapter IV of this I Act and the provisions of the Usurious Loans Act. 1918," the words "allow I only such interest as may be permissible under the law applicable to the agriculturist debtor" shall be substituted; and

(b)sub-section (4) shall be omitted.

The First Schedule[See sub-section (20) of section 2]Agricultural labourers, bangle-makers, barbers, basket-makers, blackmiths, boatmen, carders, carpenters, copper-smiths, cow-herds, dairy-men fishers, general labourers, goatherds, hunters, leather-workers, masons, midwives, potters, scavengers, stone-cutters, tailors, tanners, washer-men, watchment, water-carriers, weavers or other servants of the village community; or any similar class of persons which the [State Government] [Substituted by A.O. 1950.] may, by notification in the official Gazette, from time to time include in this Schedule.The Second Schedule(See section 27)
