Section 2(1) in The Indian Police Service (Probationers' Final Examination) Rules, 2012
(1)In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, .(a)"Academy" means the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy;(b)"Director" means Director of the Academy;(c)"final examination" means the examination conducted by the Director of the Academy at the end of the training in which the marks obtained in the periodical tests are also included;(d)"probationer" means a person appointed to the Indian Police Service on probation.
