Section 2 in The Indian Police Service (Probationers' Final Examination) Rules, 2012
2. Definitions.
(1)In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, .(a)"Academy" means the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy;(b)"Director" means Director of the Academy;(c)"final examination" means the examination conducted by the Director of the Academy at the end of the training in which the marks obtained in the periodical tests are also included;(d)"probationer" means a person appointed to the Indian Police Service on probation.(2)Words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951) shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in that Act.
