62. Powers of Canal-Officer.
(1)For the purpose of the inquiries under section 61, such Canal-Officer may enter, or authorise any officer to enter upon any land adjacent to any canal to which this Part applies, and may survey, demarcate and make a map of the same.(2)Notwithstanding anything contained in section 61 where no sufficient evidence is forthcoming as to all or any of the matters specified in that sections such Canal-Officer shall, so far as may be, settle and record the aforesaid matters in such manner as he may deem fit.
