1. Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Public Works Contractors (Regulation and Control) Act, 2006.(2)It extends to the whole of West Bengal.(3)[ It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.] [Sub-section (3) substituted by section 4, ibid (w.e.f. 10.9.2010), which read as under : (3) It shall come into force at once.]
