214. Power of access to waterworks and drainage sewerage installation.
(1)The Chief Municipal Officer, or any other agency authorized by him in this behalf, or any person appointed by the State Government in this behalf, may, for the purpose of inspecting or repairing or executing any work in, upon, or in connection with, any waterworks at all reasonable times,-(a)enter upon, and pass through, any land within or outside the municipal area, adjacent to, or in the vicinity of, such waterworks, in whomsoever such land may vest, and(b)convey into and through any such land all necessary materials, tools and implements.(2)In the exercise of any power conferred by this Section, as little damage as possible may be done, and compensation for any damage which may be done in the exercise of any such power shall be paid by the Chief Municipal Officer, or any other agency authorized by him in this behalf, or, if the person so appointed by the State Government has caused the damage, by the State Government.
