Section 73(73) in The Railway Protection Force Rules, 1987
73.1Specially deserving Naiks who have been consistently outstanding in theirperformance in that rank during the last seven consecutive years may be promoted to the rank of Head Constables, out of turn, by the [Principal Chief Security Commissioner] [Substituted 'Chief Security Commissioner' by Notification No. G.S.R. 140(E), dated 2.2.2018 (w.e.f. 3.12.1987)]concerned, in accordance with procedure that may be specified in the Directives,provided that such promotions shall be given rarely and in any case shall not exceed10 percent. of the total number of promotions thus being made at a particularselection.
