Section 28 in The First Statutes of the National Institutes of Technology
28. Appointments on Contract.
(1)Notwithstanding anything contained in these Statutes, the Board with the prior approval of the Visitor may in special circumstances appoint an eminent person on contract for a period not exceeding 5 years.(2)Subject to the provisions of the Act, the Board may appoint any person on contract in the prescribed scales of pay and on terms and conditions applicable to the relevant post for a period not exceeding 3 years.(3)For making such appointments, the Chairperson, Board of Governors shall constitute such adhoc Selection Committee, as the circumstances of each case may require:Provided that such constitution of committee shall be reported to the Board for confirmation.
