Fortunately, I think, the Government is proactive, and I think the Government, after a lot of public outcry and being called anti-middle class, actually repealed this.  But I would like to request the Government not to re-introduce this in any other manner.

Secondly, regarding restoration of commutation benefits, I think, Premachandran Ji covered it, and this is very, very important. This again goes against the very principle. The concept of pension is to give at least a substantial amount and even the minimum wage was fixed at Rs.7,000 following which the Bonus Payment Act was amended. But the minimum pension of Rs.1000 is just not sustainable and it does not serve the very purpose. In fact, in our State we give Rs.1,000 pension to everybody, including to the poor farmer, not just to the working middle class. Everybody in our State gets Rs.1,000 pension. So, I think this definitely needs to be increased. I agree with Premachandran Ji to fix it at least at Rs.3,000 considering the minimum wage fixed is Rs.7,000 and it is based on the cost of living.
