15. The learned counsel for the petitioners further placed
reliance on Veena Ashok Godse (supra) wherein the Hon'ble Apex
Court reiterated what is held in Anand v. Committee and ors.
reported in (2012) 1 SCC 113 that while dealing with documentary
evidence, greater reliance may be placed on pre-Independence
documents because they furnish a higher degree of probative
value to the declaration of status of a caste, as compared to post-
Independence documents.
Therefore, the petitioner(s) denied the same.
The oldest document in the case of the petitioner(s) of the years
1934 and 1938, it is undisputed. Therefore, there was no reason
not to rely on these documents to the Scrutiny Committee. The
petitioner(s) placed reliance on Priya Pramod Gajbe (supra),
wherein the Hon'ble Apex Court held in para 9 as under:-
