State Of West Bengal vs Associated Contractors on 10 September, 2014
In case of State of West Bengal v. Associated
Contractors, (2015) 1 SCC 32, the Supreme Court
interpreted the term 'Court' as defined under Section
2(1)(e) of the Act as to mean only the Principal Civil
Court of original jurisdiction in a district or High
Court having civil jurisdiction in the State. No other
Court, including the Supreme Court, is contemplated
under Section 2(1)(e) of the Act.
